At a Special Board Meeting held on January 15, Richard Cantu, Eric Dick, and Dr. John McGee, who are all incumbents on the Harris County Department of Education (HCDE) Board, were sworn in for their new terms. The oath-taking ceremonies for Trustees Cantu, Dick, and McGee were witnessed by loved ones and friends, and they occurred in conjunction with School Board Recognition Month.
Cantu was re-elected to a second term in Position 3, At-Large, Dick to a second term in Position 4, Precinct 3, and John McGee to a seat in Position 6, Precinct 1, at the general election that took place in November 2024. In HCDE, trustees are elected to six-year terms.
